Aleppo, who had watched their brief exchange with amusement, finally interjected, “Stupid boy. He remembered the day they had found them, wailing pitifully in the streets several months before. His heart was pounding away in his chest and he felt like he might pass out at any moment, but it seemed like they were going to make it out in one piece after all.
